It's so hard to realize that I've been in Tennessee for almost a month already! I got here on October 18th and here it is November 15th! Wow! But looking back in my diary and at the photos that I've taken, yes, I can see that it's been a month already.
Well, lets see... there was Libby's birthday party on Halloween weekend, Justin's birthday party where we had some family come over; watch the CMAs at Mary's; I adopted a cat; I've been all over the countryside taking photos at Rutledge Falls, a car show in Manchester, a play in Murfreesboro, Normandy, fall foliage photos around the yard, a Veteran's Day celebration on the square in Manchester, and a visit to the Stones River National Battlefield. Yes, it's been a busy month!
Mike won't be able to make it to Tennessee for Thanksgiving, but he'll be here for Christmas. I miss him. Even his teasing about me having a T-Rex as a kid (which really gets old, but I think I must subconsciously like it because I miss even that)! He's been working some really awful hours during the week and has only had one weekend day off since I've been here. He's been working till after 9 p.m. before leaving to head for home. I'm thinking that's his way of missing me. If I'm not at home, he doesn't want to be at home either. Sounds good, anyway! :o)
The weather in Tennessee has finally decided it's November, and has turned overcast, rainy and cold. Mike needs to send me some more of my winter clothes from California! My "Tennessee Coat" would be great right about now! My "Tennessee Coat" is a heavy (seriously... it weighs about 10 lbs.) coat that I bought at Burlington Coat Factory in Houston. Yeah, Houston! The inside of the coat is lined with faux fur, including the sleeves and hood! The two sets of outside pockets are also lined with the faux fur. The outside is a suede leather and its long enough to cover my backside! I would bring it with us to Tennessee when we would come up from Houston for Thanksgiving. I would freeze my ... off every time we came up here, so I bought the warmest coat I could find. Of course, living in Houston, I got to wear the same said coat maybe one or two days out of the year, but heck... I stayed warm in Tennessee! The boys would fight over who got to use it on the trip up here to Tennessee as a blanket!
Among other things that Mike is sending is my order of Christmas cards that I received two days after I got to Tennessee. Last year I created our Christmas cards from a photograph that I took when we went on a whale watching tour. It turned out really nice! This year's card is also another photograph that I took at Balboa Beach at dusk. I really loved the photo and it just seemed like the right photo to use. Can't wait to see them!
Well, all for now. Here are some of the photos I've taken since I've been here.
